Well, in the Achterhoek (and I'm sure there are more places) we have a tradition of placing a Sarah or Abraham doll in someones garden when they turn 50. My cousin is 25, so it'll be a half Sarah for her.
Basically it's an excuse to go over to her place and drink beer. :D
Oh, that's fantastic! I must remember this when my girlfriend turns 50 next year! Love it!
Haha! Maybe you can find some of the pictures of the dolls on internet, cause we always make them as old and ugly as possible; big bushy beards, lots of large noses with warts and the like.
